RIAT 2015

We got great weather over the weekend and had a fab time hanging out with family and friends over the 2 days we were there. Obviously it was great to see the boys fly (especially with the Vulcan), but it was really cool to see the Chinook again after so many years!

Flying with daddy!
Mother and son watching daddy together.

This is how a VIP girl rolls.
At no point did any child drink bubbles - it was just for show!
Some of the wives having a go on the flight simulator.

We decided to be major groupies and watch the boys strap in. Think they found it very distracting, as we kept getting the kids to shout their names!!

The boys rushed out to have some well deserved beers and one of our cats summed up how I felt after the long weekend!
She was promptly taken off the flying suit- but just had to get a photo.

Swansea 2015

A cold and windy day summed up the first day of the 2015 Swansea air show, but at lest we got to see a show! This was my second time at a beach air show and loved it! Crowed line- what crowed line!?! Just go out for a little paddle in the water and the jets were right over head!!

The kids were creating their own formations on the shore.

No large camera lens needed!

Father sharing a moment with his kids.

Everyone's favourite  - The Heart

That big black could had me walking very quickly back to the park and ride!

These 2 must have been freezing!

Queen's Birthday Flay Past 2015

A lot of waiting around, cold weather, point and shoot, selfie sticks and a little romanic summed up the Queens 2015 Birthday celebrations.

Didn't realise that only the Reds were going to make the fly past, due to the weather - after all that waiting, so wasn't ready and this was my best shot!

Kids Birthday Fly Past

What do you do when you have to leave early and miss your kids birthday party?
Give them their own little air show of course!

Red 2, Red 9 and one of the Dye Team Engineers, were supposed to play pass the parcel, limbo and cut cake with their eldest kids last Friday, but due to poor weather moving in up north, they had to leave early and miss the party. But the boys didn't leave them empty handed and put in a little practice over Scampton before heading off, giving the kids (and Rapunzel) a little extra birthday party wow!

Llandudno Airshow 2015

Wales put on the weather for the Reds first display of 2015.
Llandudno is a beautiful seaside town in North Wales not far from RAF Valley, where all the boys go for training early in their career. I spent 2 years there and just recently spent an amazing summer in Rhosneigr. When the weathers good, it's a hard place to beat, when the weathers bad, well lets just say it's bad!

The boys had big competition from the rocky beach today. Many of the little ones found the rocks too enticing and I must say the boys lost some of the kids attention!
This father was so sweet, he was totally trying to engage his little one in what was happening in the sky.......

But in the end, the rocks won!!

These girls too, found the rocks and sea much more interesting!

I would like to say this little boy was super excited to see the Reds, but he was about to throw a rock!

He did stop to look up at one point.

We were so lucky to be able to go up The Shard today, to watch the boys fly over London on the 70th anniversary of VE Day.

Coming Home

It's tradition for wives, partners, sons, daughters and mans best friend to welcome home the boys when they return from Spring Hawk. We had to wait an extra night due to the weather, but that's life in the RAF.
That's MY daddy

Dutiful wife and mother - carrying everyone stuff!!
